General and important labels

Emission control information 1900 cc engine models
These engines conform to U.S. Environmen-
tal Protection Agency (EPA) and/or California
Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations for
marine SI engines applicable at the time of
manufacture.
The 4-star labels are affixed to models that
meet the Air Resources Board’s emission 1
standards for 4-star models. (See page 4 for
information on the star labels.)
Star labels are not affixed to 3-star models.
252XE: These engines are certified to operate 1 Emission control information label
on regular unleaded gasoline.
3-star models
255XE / 255XD: These engines are certified
to operate on premium unleaded gasoline.

MARINE ENGINES. REFER TO OWNER’S MANUAL FOR MAINTENANCE
