(5) Attach and tighten the winch line. Lifting

If you need to remove the boat from the water
without a trailer, use these guidelines:
z Use a sling-type lifting mechanism de-
signed for lifting boats. The sling should be
1 covered with a protective material to pre-
vent damage to the hull gelcoat.
z Use spreader bars to avoid side stress to
1 Bow eye the hull that may cause cracks in the gel-
coat and fiberglass.
